Custos IPC

Patent office with members

Patent office Custos IPC is a collective of patent attorneys, specialists in the field of patents. We stand for innovation and believe in doing things differently. The members form our cooperative; as an independent patent attorney you are a member of Custos IPC. This model was chosen in the belief that people should be empowered. Patent administration

Formalities team ensures professional patent administration

Working method

How things work at Custos IPC? As we said, we stand for innovation and do things differently. We believe in a proactive approach and really put the client's interests first. As a patent agency, we are present in many places. Directly and indirectly.

This is partly due to a wonderful network of strategic partners we have created. Lawyers, tax specialists, accountants, product designers and grant advisers, as well as investors, incubators, universities and various knowledge institutions.

Furthermore, our Business Developers are talking to companies week in, week out. All too often, the (im)possibilities of IP are not, or not sufficiently, considered. It is for good reason that Custos IPC has set itself the goal of raising awareness of IP among start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs.

Customer needs arise from all commercial efforts. Substantive IP issues that our members can get stuck into. This could be a patent application, an opposition, a second opinion or a structural in-house IP management assignment. Small, large, short-term, long-term; just where the client's needs lie. To guarantee the quality of our services, we work with a four-eye principle as standard. This means that you always work together with other members.

It also happens that members themselves bring in assignments to the cooperative. Writing and submitting a patent application is an example of a type of assignment brought in and executed by a member. But it may also be the case that an assignment brought in by one member is carried out by another. For example, because it involves a different technical background, or because the member submitting the assignment has no time/capacity for it at the time. In terms of margin structure, all commercial scenarios have been taken into account. For all parties involved, the agreements are exactly clear, as they have been approved in the General Members' Meeting.

Custos IPC has a skilled Formalities team led by co-founder Christine ter Stege. Using professional IT systems, they secure all submissions, commitments and administrative processes.

In short, as a member of Custos IPC, you know you are supported at all times, both at the 'front end' (commerce) and the 'back end' (formalities). So you can fully focus on what you do best: Intellectual Property services. Exactly in line with our philosophy.
