In-house IP Management

In-house IP management
Do you also find it difficult to make decisions regarding patents? In your view, are they complex and time-consuming? Multinationals have solved this by having in-house IP managers doing this work. But for SMEs, that solution is often not feasible.
Our in-house IP management collaboration is characterised by the physical presence of one of our IP experts. As an IP manager on location, the patent attorney acts as a sparring partner for the management. By regularly and structurally discussing current innovations, the associated roadmap, possible business cases, investments and the existing patent portfolio, you keep a grip on the strategy and are able to make conscious choices in the field of Intellectual Property.
IP Strategy
At its core is good strategic IP Management advice. Advice that takes a considered look at innovation in its entirety. Early identification of developments, both internal and external. Is an innovation patentable? Is it desirable? How does an innovation relate to already existing patents? Should IP research be carried out? Do you want to extend an existing patent, or is termination a wiser choice? The answers to these questions determine the direction and composition of your patent portfolio, or lack thereof. We believe that working together in this way is the key to long-term success.
The in-house IP manager performs the resulting work independently, minimising the time burden for the management, while ensuring that the work is carried out according to requirements. This includes filing patent applications, studying novelty reports and handling missives in various countries.
Hybrid cooperation
Should it be the case that you already collaborate with another reputable patent office, the IP manager works as a director with your existing patent office. More and more clients are experiencing the added value of this hybrid set-up. After all, the trusted patent agency stays on, and at the same time a more in-depth IP management approach is taken. This makes our partner cooperation complementary to existing agreements.
Pricing and intensity
We charge a special partner rate for this type of collaboration. This is considerably lower than the 'usual' market rates. The intensity of the cooperation is up to you. If one half-day session per quarter (for now) is sufficient, we will arrange it. If you want two half-days a week, or perhaps two patent attorneys who are both available for one half-day session, all desirable variations can be discussed.
