About Custos IPC
"Custos IPC, where does that name actually come from?", is a frequently asked question. "The custos, thesaurarius or treasurer is the person responsible for managing the church treasures in a monastery or diocese," reads Wikipedia.
Patents are company treasures. These should be well preserved and guarded. With a patent office, which literally means treasurer in Latin, you can be sure that the protection of your innovative ideas and innovations is in good hands.
On 16 May 2023, patent office Custos IPC was founded by two ladies and one gentleman. Willemyn Slikker and Christine Portier have earned their spurs as patent attorneys (Willemyn) and Formalities Officers (Christine) over the past 15 years. Bas Hekman is new to the world of patents and trademark and design rights. An experienced business developer, he enthusiastically proclaims the story of Custos IPC.
We form a cooperative of which all self-employed people are members. This model was chosen in the belief that people should be empowered. Do what you are good at and get even better at it. That is our philosophy. We are convinced that by doing so we combine the best of both worlds.

Clients work with experienced, intrinsically motivated self-employed people, without the vulnerability and dependence of a one-person firm. At the same time, members can collaborate, share and enrich knowledge at the service of leading companies.
On our services page, we have described in detail the services and work we enjoy doing.
If you want to get a literal and figurative picture of our members and find out more about his or her (personal) interests, experience and areas of expertise, take a look at our IP experts page.
If you are authorised and want to be able to assess whether membership of Custos IPC is something for you as a self-employed person, check out our member page.
